Kari Sam Wuhrer, born April 28, 1968 is an American singer and actress. She began her professional career as a teenager. She is famous for her character of Maggie Beckett in the television series Sliders and also as the Sheriff Samantha Parker in the horror comedy film Eight Legged Freaks.Wuhrer was born in Brookfield, Connecticut, the daughter of Karin (nee Noble), who is a payroll manager, and German American Andrew Wuhrer, a police officer and auto salesman. Her siblings include three. As a teenager was a nightclub singer, sneaking out of the house to sing. When she began studying acting at Wooster School from the age of 13, she was a drama student at the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts at Marymount Manhattan College and Columbia University. Additionally, she studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts under the famed Uta Hagen. Her birthplace was in Brookfield on April 28th in 1967. She is the daughter of a German-American father and a German-American mother. Kari is the youngest of three siblings. As a teenager, she sang at nightclubs and then slipped away for performances. Kari aged thirteen years old, was enrolled at the Wooster School and Tisch School of the Arts of New York University. She took drama classes at Columbia University, Marymount Manhattan College, Marymount Manhattan College and at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art with a drama teacher renowned for her work as Uta. Kari began acting when she was aged a teenager. Her first break on television was 1987 on MTV's Remote Control.
