Julia Fiona Roberts, born on October 28, 1967, in Atlanta to Betty Lou Bredemus & Walter Grady Roberts. Her great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts, a farmer who was also one of the first Roberts to arrive in Atlanta. She inherited her father's interest in theatre from an early time. While he was a students studying at Emory University from 1952 to 1954, he participated in many productions. While stationed in Biloxi Mississippi, he received his induction into the air force in 1953. Betty Lou Bredemus was also in the production. In 1955, the couple married and their child Eric Anthony was born. The couple divorced in 1957. the military and Walter began his studies in Tulane University in New Orleans Louisiana. Walter was employed by Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. In 1960, the family moved in Decatur Georgia. Walter as well as Betty Lou financed their own production of a local children's Sunday matinee show called Bum Bum and His Buddies. They also founded the six-year Actors and Writers Workshop later in the year. Lelisa Billingsley, also known as Lisa, was born in the year 1965. Julia Billingsley followed in 1967.
